McFit Launches Global Franchise: McFit, a leading and Fast-Growing fitness brand in Europe, is preparing for major global expansion by introducing Franchise opportunities in international markets for the first time.The strategic choice represents a significant shift for the fitness operator, which has traditionally relied on its own facilities across Europe.
So far, McFit has operated over 230 company-owned gyms in Germany, Austria, and Italy. Through its new franchising approach, the brand seeks to accelerate expansion beyond these key markets and create a broader international footprint.
The expansion plan will follow a proven blueprint. McFit’s franchising model is being shaped after the global success of Gold’s Gym, another flagship brand under the Rainer Schaller Global (RSG) Group umbrella. Gold’s Gym currently operates 58 company-owned studios and 507 franchise locations worldwide, offering a clear roadmap for scalable international growth.
“Our track record shows that we not only understand franchise systems but can scale them successfully on a global level,” said Jörg Fockenberg, RSG Group’s Vice President of Strategy, Expansion and Franchise. “By internationalizing McFit as a franchise concept, we are taking the next logical step and opening our strongest European brand to markets around the world.”
As stated by the company, the primary emphasis will be on areas where McFit lacks company-owned sites, aiming at lucrative fitness markets. Acquiring master franchise partners will be a critical focus, enabling skilled operators to manage development throughout whole countries or areas
To support this ambitious rollout, McFit has introduced a comprehensive franchise support system. The package includes operational guidance, branding standards, management tools and market adaptation strategies—ensuring franchisees can localize offerings while maintaining a consistent global brand identity.
